  2. ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must present a current USA Wrestling competitor’s membership card at check-in. Membership cards should be acquired from the State Chairperson or State Membership Director of the contestant’s state of residence, but will be available for purchase at registration for $30.00. Secondary sports accident insurance is provided as a benefit of membership. No pre-qualification required. Foreign athletes are eligible and encouraged to compete in the Veteran’s National Championships. However, they must possess a current USA Wrestling competitor’s membership card.


  3. VETERAN’S DIVISION: The Veteran’s division includes both freestyle and Greco-Roman competitions. Both tournaments are open to all athletes that fit the following age and weight categories:

    Weight divisions are 50-58 kg, 63kg, 69kg, 76kg, 85kg, 97kg, and 130kg. All weigh-ins for the Veteran’s division will be conducted in kilograms. 1 kilogram=2.2046 lbs.


  4. EVENT LODGING: To reserve rooms through the LVSC and to receive the discounted registration fee, rooms must be booked through the following toll free numbers and only at the hotels listed. These rooms are available for participants, family, friends, staff, and anyone else who may need to reserve a hotel room during this event. For rates or hotel information, call:

  5. REGISTRATION: ALL ATHLETES, IN ALL DIVISIONS, MUST REGISTER ON-LINE BEFORE TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 2008 AT 9:00 AM (Pacific Standard Time). There will be no on-site or late registration --- NO EXCEPTIONS.

  6. STANDARD ENTRY FEES: Those participants NOT reserving hotel rooms through the LVSC Event Lodging must pay the standard entry fees: Registration

  7. DISCOUNTED ENTRY FEES: Those participants reserving hotel rooms through the LVSC Event Lodging will pay the following discounted entry fees: Registration

  8. WEIGH-INS: Veteran’s division athletes competing in both styles will only weigh-in once for both events. This is contingent on the athlete actively competing in the first wrestling style scheduled. Athletes competing in one style must weigh in at the official weigh-in for that style. Athletes must weigh-in wearing a COMPETITION SINGLET (Modified singlets will not be allowed for weigh-ins). No weight allowance will be given. See schedule for weigh-in times.

  9. INFECTIOUS SKIN SCREENING: Athletes must be present in a COMPETITION SINGLET and must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-ins. The chief medical officer has full authority, without appeal, in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete. See schedule for medical check times.

  10. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: In the Veteran’s division, attractive awards will be presented to the top three (3) place winners in each style, in each weight class.

  11. RULES: The rules of FILA, with current USA Wrestling modifications where applicable, will govern the event.

  12. UNIFORMS: Red and blue singlets, or red/blue reversible singlets with under briefs are required. (NO T-SHIRTS).

  13. PAIRINGS: In the Veteran’s division, there will be a blind computer draw after the initial weigh-in. Weight classes with five (5) or less entries will use a one (1) pool system and weight classes with six (6) or more entries will use a two (2) pool system.

  14. INJURIES: In the event of injury or illness, NO contestant will be permitted to continue the competition without approval of the Chief Medical Officer, whose decision is final and not subject to appeal.

  15. COACHING: For all divisions, only NCEP Certified coaches with a current USA Wrestling Coaches Membership are entitled to free admission. Coaches must report to the “Coaches Registration” counter (located immediately outside the venue entrance) with photo identification, current USA Wrestling Coaches Membership card and NCEP Certification card to receive proper credentialing. COACHES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE CORNER OF A MAT WITHOUT A PROPER CREDENTIAL.

  16. VETERANS and SENIOR DIVISION COACHES FLOOR PASS : Floor passes may be purchased for $50, in addition to the general admission cost, for those coaches that do not have both the USAW & NCEP certification card.  This floor pass is good for Veteran and Senior competition ONLY.
