  2. ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must present a current USA Wrestling competitor’s membership card at check-in. Membership cards should be acquired from the State Chairperson or State Membership Director of the contestant’s state of residence, but will be available for purchase at registration for $30.00. Secondary sports accident insurance is provided as a benefit of membership. No pre-qualification required. Only wrestlers who meet the U.S. citizenship requirements necessary for representing the USA in the World or Olympic Championships are eligible to participate in this event. Athlete MUST be a U.S. citizen prior to the start of this event.


  3. MEN’S FILA JUNIOR WORLD DIVISION: Only wrestlers born between 1988-1990 and 1991 are eligible. However, wrestlers born in 1990 will be eligible if they provide a written statement from a medical professional, on his/her printed stationary, attesting that the athlete is of sufficient physical and emotional maturity to participate at this level. Weight divisions are 50kg (46kg minimum), 55kg, 60kg, ***63kg, 66kg, ***70kg, 74kg, ***79kg, 84kg, 96kg and 120kg.

  4. All weigh-ins for the FILA Junior division will be conducted in kilograms. 1 kilogram = 2.2046 lbs. No weight allowance will be given. Following the 2008 Men’s FILA Junior National Championships, USA Wrestling will conduct a mandatory training camp and team trials tournament to determine the athlete representatives to the 2008 Men’s Freestyle and Greco-Roman FILA Junior World Championships.  For additional information regarding the FILA Junior World Team Trials procedures, visit the TheMat.com and/or contact Mitch Hull (Director of National Teams) at USA Wrestling at 719-598-8181.   5. EVENT LODGING: To reserve rooms through the LVSC and to receive the discounted registration fee, rooms must be booked through the following toll free numbers and only at the hotels listed.   6. REGISTRATION: ALL ATHLETES, IN ALL DIVISIONS, MUST REGISTER ON-LINE BEFORE TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 2008 AT 9:00 AM (Pacific Standard Time). There will be no on-site or late registration --- NO EXCEPTIONS.

  9. WEIGH-INS: All FILA Junior division wrestlers will weigh in only one time/per style. However, a second weigh-in is required for athletes competing in both styles. Athletes must weigh-in wearing a COMPETITION SINGLET (Modified singlets will not be allowed for weigh-ins). No weight allowance will be given. See schedule for weigh-in times.

  10. INFECTIOUS SKIN SCREENING: Athletes must be present in a COMPETITION SINGLET and must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-ins. The chief medical officer has full authority, without appeal, in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete. See schedule for medical check times.

  11. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS: In the Junior FILA division, attractive wooden plaques will be presented to the top three (3) place winners in each style, in each weight class. Medals will be awarded to place winners 4-8 in each style, in each weight class. Outstanding Wrestler Awards will be presented in each style.

  12. RULES: The rules of FILA, with current USA Wrestling modifications where applicable, will govern the event.

  13. UNIFORMS: Red and blue singlets, or red/blue reversible singlets with under briefs are required.

  14. PAIRINGS: In the FILA Junior division, there will be a blind computer draw after the initial weigh-in. A standard, seeded double-elimination line bracket, with consolation wrestle-backs to 3rd, 5th and 7th place will be used. Wrestlers from the same club will be separated when possible. (NOTE: Wrestlers from the same club must use the same club name or abbreviation during registration in order to insure proper separation.)

  15. INJURIES: In the event of injury or illness, NO contestant will be permitted to continue the competition without approval of the Chief Medical Officer, whose decision is final and not subject to appeal.

  16. COACHING: For all divisions, only NCEP Certified coaches with a current USA Wrestling Coaches Membership are entitled to free admission. Coaches must report to the “Coaches Registration” counter (located immediately outside the venue entrance) with photo identification, current USA Wrestling Coaches Membership card and NCEP Certification card to receive proper credentialing. In order to coach at the FILA Junior level, coaches must have a current USA Wrestling Coaches Membership and a minimum Copper certification. Purchased floor passes are not valid to coach FILA Junior division athletes. COACHES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE CORNER OF A MAT WITHOUT A PROPER CREDENTIAL.
